History
Montevertine was purchased by Sergio Manetti in 1967 as a holiday home and, planning to produce wine for himself and for friends and relatives, he planted some Sangiovese vineyards. The results obtained were already so surprising that he decided to send a few bottles to Vinitaly in Verona and it was immediately a great success. From then on it was decided to get serious, Sergio will devote himself exclusively to the production of wine, increasing the quality every year. The company has its own land at 425 m a.s.l. and is located in Radda in Chianti and only typical varieties of the denomination are grown, including Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino.

Production method
The grapes are harvested at different times of the year depending on the variety, but strictly by hand, to preserve the freshness and quality of the berry as much as possible. The latter then ferment in contact with the skins in cement tanks for 21 days. Subsequently the wine ages for at least 24 months in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels and rests for another 3 months in the bottle before being placed on the market.
