History
Founded in 1829, Maison Bollinger is one of the most prestigious Champagne houses, known for its distinctive style and commitment to quality. La Grande Année represents the pinnacle of Bollinger’s production, crafted only in extraordinary vintages.
Grapes Used
- Pinot Noir: 60%
- Chardonnay: 40%
The grapes are sourced from 11 selected crus, mainly from Verzenay, Aÿ, and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ for Pinot Noir, and from Chouilly and Avize for Chardonnay.
Production Method
After primary fermentation, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle according to the traditional champenoise method. A prolonged maturation on the lees imparts complexity and depth to the wine.
Alcohol Content
Approximately 12% vol.
