History
The 8380 winery was founded by Iacopo and Filippo Rossi, brothers passionate about the world of wine who decided to found what is in all respects the smallest winery in the Maremma and the Scansano area; the name is inspired by the union of their years of birth ’83 and ’80. Unique and unmistakable style, in all respects artisanal; we are talking about “only” 2 hectares of vineyards in full productive maturity. Sangiovese, which is locally called Morellino, Merlot and Vermentino are grown on a unique and hard terroir, capable of giving dry extract and complexity to the wines produced.

Sangiovese 100%
Production method
The grapes are harvested and prepared for the fermentation process by destemming and pressing the grapes. The must then ferments in stainless steel at a controlled temperature with maceration on the skins and is subsequently placed in barriques for 6-8 months. After this step the wine returns to steel for better assembly and bottling, where it rests for another 4 months before actually being put on the market.

Tasting notes
Intense ruby red color with purple reflections. Intense and vinous nose with notes of cherry and black cherry, raspberry and blackberry, violet and rose petals, herbs, black pepper, cloves and vanilla. In the mouth it is full-bodied, lively, with a good initial softness and closed instead by greater flavor and acidity.
Possible combinations
Morellino 8380 is perfect to drink by the glass given its great smoothness. In combination it is perfect with red meat dishes, even undercooked ones, or first courses with meat sauce. Also excellent with platters of tasty cold cuts and medium-aged cheeses.
