History
Cellier Saint Benoit, a family business, is located in the northern part of the Jura, in the village of Pupillin. In recent decades, grandfather Gilbert, father Denis and now Benjamin Benoit have gradually transformed the company, passing from polyculture to viticulture. Benjamin took over the business after studying oenology in Beaune, Burgundy and has collaborated with renowned producers in New Zealand and Burgundy. The Benoit vineyard, cultivated according to a parcel philosophy, includes 12 distinct lots, with vines that have an average age of over 50 years. The soils are characterized by different types of marl and various exposures. The practices in the vineyard and in the cellar are artisanal and natural, without the use of filtrations or collations. Benjamin creates wines of precision and depth, which reflect the terroir rather than the varietals. Not surprisingly, despite his young age, he was named “Best Jura Producer” in 2021.
